This Level 2 Award in First Aid for Mental Health is a practical, one-day course designed to build on core awareness and give learners the knowledge and confidence to support mental well-being in the workplace.

Ideal for schools, youth centres, early years settings, and workplaces, this course goes beyond the basics - helping participants understand mental health conditions, start supportive conversations, and contribute to a positive mental health culture.

What this course covers

Learners will gain a deeper understanding of:

• What First Aid for Mental Health is

• How to identify common mental health conditions

• How to provide initial support and start a conversation

• The impact of stress on mental health

• The effects of drugs and alcohol

• The First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan

• How to support a positive mental health culture in the workplace

• Minimum of 6 hours

• Typically delivered in one full day in your own setting

Assessment

Learners are assessed throughout the course using:

• Practical activities

• Open questioning

• Multiple-choice questioning

Certification

On successful completion, learners will receive a:

Level 2 Award in First Aid for Mental Health (RQF)

• Valid for 3 years

• Annual refresher training is recommended

• Full course required to requalify after expiry
